WightBlat 13-15th April 2007

Just got back from WightBlat – What a superb event. The IOW Seveners are a great bunch with a diverse set of owners and cars including a Morgan and an Eldon amongst their ranks.

A band (“She Said”) were on hand for the Friday night, and I believe much beer was imbibed !!!!

The following morning I arrived on the Ferry at Yarmouth to be met by Simon Craddock and we set off to find the campsite ..... It was then I noticed that either I had square tyres or the road was “somewhat undulating” to say the least. Anyway, I put all thoughts of a massive bill to replace all of my fillings to the back of my mind , and headed over to Atherley Bay Holiday camp.

Once there we noticed that to complement Colin Chapmans 50 year old design, we also had a matching 50’s holiday camp , but this became strangely cool the  more we stayed !!!, and on the Saturday night the WightBlat boys arranged a talk from a guy that worked with Chapman, which I missed  unfortunately , but this was due to visitiong the fantastically preserved Osborne House, former home of Queen Vic and Prince Albert (Well worth a visit).This was followed by a great Buffet, and MORE beer !!! hehe !
