MONSTER TRUCK SPOTTED ON M4Whilst in the soooooo Boring 50MPH zone on the M4 yesterday, something extremely large up ahead seemed to be blocking out the sun.
Could this be the biggest 'Mini'-Truck in the UK ??? .... TAPPETS SETUP - 3rd MayHeaded over to Steve (Se7en-Up's ) place to set up the tappets.
Turned out to be a lot easier than I fist thought with the adjuste being an interference fit, and after a quick adjust, we put the rocker cover back on and restarted - suddenly the engine sounds and feels a lot smoother, and seems to have better fuel economy !!! (No...really !)
One fantastic side-effect of all this is that it pops the most magnificent flames on the over-run, as I lit up the hedgerows on the way home .... BLUEBIRD 40th ANNIVERSARY DAY AT BROOKLANDS- 12th May
Work is going well on rebuilding the boat for display at the Ruskin Museum in Coniston (www.bluebirdproject.com) - After the lottery fund refused them twice, the diver who found the wreck is rebuilding it himself with help and support from volunteers. A cracking day was capped off by a quick look at the track which is still in remarkable condition (what is left of it !) More Campbell info at www.acrossthelake.com . SUNSET BLAT - 7th May
Didn’t want to see the sunset go to waste so pulled the cover off the 7, and strapped in. Once you have threaded your way through town you hit possibly the best blatting road (apart from the sublime Ridgeway near Wantage !) in the South....the road is even banked on the curves , and has twisties, long bends , forest ‘tunnels’ and even the odd 4x4 to blast into the weeds. Passing Lasham , you look upwards to see gliders and red-kites soaring above !! A quick 180 degree turn and a run back ends another glorious evenings blat ! STONELEIGH KIT CAR SHOW - 5/6th May
We blasted up a fantastic back route – no navigation skils or SatNav needed – just follow the Seven in front of you, we met up at with the Oxford Crew where we pretty much took over the entire car park of McDonalds. A letheal dose of cholesterol later we strapped in and headed out en masse – I say en masses, but what actually happened is that 30 cars left together then split into about 15 mini-convoys , all going different ways. First stop was the L7GB stand, where a welcome cup of tea was downed before doing the rounds of the trade stands for those ‘essential extras’ !!! Some cracking new cars including the new Sevenesque Toniq-R built by a student as his project, and the nutcase Helicopter-turbine engine Rush !!! Back to the l7GB tent for tea and cakes before convoying back until my extremely thirsty crossflow needed to refuel ! |
