SUNRISE SQUADRON REFORMS . (Blattus Lowwus Flius)[Cue 633 Squadron music...] Well, it would have been sunrise, if I’d actually got up on time ! – eventually got to the rendezvous point at about 8.10. Had decided not to go to the Caterham Festival, and go for a morning blat around the South instead. The weather was fantastic, and looking back in hindsight (which is a wonderful thing !), some sunscreen might have been a good idea. What wasn’t a good idea was sticking to close to the guy in front, as I now have quite a few Blatting Scars’ and a nice smashed headlight. How ever, the blatting was awesome, with BlatLeader Steve leading the Crossflow formation, and me as Tail end Charlie !!. Steve’s 1700 and Pauls 1800 Crossflows roared off into the scenery as my 1600 huffed and puffed to keep up !!! (Must upgrade soon....and get that Aeroscreen on) Ended up at Goodwood for breakfast at the Aero Club (see pics), where a trackday was in full swing. Ariel Atoms, More Caterhams ,including one that seemed to have a hoover strapped to the bonnet ! (See pics), and a Gallardo howling round the track. Yet another excellent blat, thanks to Steve and his famous blattting Routes (Paperback out soon! ) Watch out for the Hun in the Sun ! MEET AT THE PHOENIXGood turnout at Colin Chapmans old haunt with over 20 cars including a v.nice original Lotus 7 owned for the last 37 years. (Pic below)
Steve M also brought a large toilet roll (See below) - proof indeed that you need a lot of it when you're a passenger in his car !!!
